#29 Morten Madsen


Was drafted in 2005 by Minnesota Wild (4th round, 122nd) as the only Danish player that year….Made his debut in the Danish league at the young age of 15 for his childhood club, Rødovre….Played excellently at the World U18 Championship in 2004 recording 8 points in six games, and attracting a lot of attention from NHL-scouts….Moved to Frölunda in Sweden where he was a dominant force with the club’s junior teams….Made his Elitserie debut in 2005-06, recording five games for the Frölunda Indians….In 2006-07 he traveled to Victoriaville to play in the QMJHL, where he enjoyed great success, tallying 100 regular season points (32+68) in 68 games and 9 points in six playoff games….Recorded his first World Championship goal against Sweden in Moscow, 2007, when he scored the 2-0-goal – Denmark sensationally led 2-0 against Sweden (Sweden eventually won 5-2)….Spent the 2007-08 season with the AHL team Houston Aeros marking his first North American-pro point on October 19th 2007. His season totals ended up at 21 points in 2007-08…In 2008-09 he recorded 22 regular season points in 56 games for the Aeros…Came back to Europe to play for Modo Hockey, where he played along with Peter Forsberg and Markus Näslund and made good impressions.Madsen continued his fine stint with Modo in the 2010-11-season and finished as the most impressive Danish Elitserien player, recording 32 points in 65 games, including the qualification series. Played 49 regular season games for Modo in the 2011-12-season tallying 16 points (11+5) adding six playoff games. Was the assistant captain of Modo Hockey ….Played six games at the 2011 World Championship in Slovakia recording 1 point (0+1) and averaging 16.31 minutes of ice time…2012 in Sweden he scored 2 goals in 7 games averaging 17:18 minutes pr. game.. Never scared of the physical battle in front of the opponents goal Morten usually returns from duty bearing minor injuries but never quits. Experience, smartness and hard work are key personality skills…A key player at Hamburg Freezers in the DEL…along with Mikkel Bødker he was the player with most ice time during the Words 2014 in Minsk…During the World Championships in the Czech Republic he was one of Denmark’s best players and is reliable in every sequence of the game..When the Hamburg Freezers closed down all activity after the 2015/2016 season Morten return to Sweden to become Captain for Karlskrona…Leadership, positivity and special teams play are some of Mortens best assets and he continues to lead the team as Assistant Captain for the Team Denmark World Championship team.
